HMAS Derwent (DE 49) was a River-class destroyer escort commissioned into the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) on 30 April 1964. Built at Williamstown Naval Dockyard in Victoria, she was designed for anti-submarine warfare and fleet escort duties during the Cold War.
